My Story

From Never-Ending Yo-Yo Dieting to Feeling Like Myself Again โ€” In My Own Words

Eileen Chong, Founder of MumJesty

"It's not about whether we can afford it. It's about whether we can afford to keep putting ourselves last."

After having my two kids, I struggled for a long time to lose the weight. No matter what I tried, nothing seemed to work. I tried dieting, slimming centres, and online products โ€” but every time I stopped, I gained the weight back again. Sometimes even heavier than before.

I felt like slimming was a never-ending cycle, and I began to wonder โ€” am I going to live my life like this forever?

I started to avoid photos because I didn't want people to see how I looked. I felt older, heavier, demoralised whenever I saw my kids' friends' mummies with their perfect figures. I couldn't wear the outfits I liked, and I lost my confidence. I knew this wasn't the life I wanted. I needed to find a way to feel like myself again and have control over my life.

Chapter One

It Was Never About Not Caring โ€” It Was About Not Having Time

Every day was busy for me. My schedule was packed with work, my kids, and household responsibilities. I kept telling myself, "I'll focus on my health when things slow down." But the truth was, I kept getting busier instead โ€” and felt even more tired than before.

Until one day I heard that my uncle had fainted at home and needed emergency surgery after a heart attack. That was when I realised I didn't need more time to take control of my health โ€” I just needed one simple, sustainable habit that could fit into my daily routine.

After I adopted that habit, I started seeing results without sacrificing my responsibilities. I felt more energetic, became more productive at work, and showed other busy mums that looking great is possible even with a full schedule.

Chapter Two

It Was Never About Not Wanting to Invest in Myself

I was always budgeting for my kids' expenses and daily household costs, but there was always something more important to pay for. So I kept putting myself last, and felt guilty spending on myself.

Then I started noticing more and more friends around me becoming unhealthier โ€” placed on medication, needing regular medical reviews. That's when it hit me: I didn't have time for regular medical reviews, and I didn't want to become that person either. I needed something that truly worked and created long-term value, without costing me more time.

Today, my health has improved and I feel more confident. I feel empowered to take care of myself while also showing up for my family.

Chapter Three

It Was Never About Not Trying โ€” I Had Tried Almost Everything

Dieting. Slimming centres. Countless products. Some worked for a while, but I couldn't sustain them because of time or money. And once I stopped, everything came right back. So many methods worked for other people but failed for me โ€” until I started doubting my own body.

Then one day, I came across a classmate's Instagram post โ€” people sharing their own experiences, month after month. I didn't believe it at first. But I decided I wasn't ready to accept that there was simply no method suited to me, so I gave it one last try.

This time, something felt different. It was easier to maintain, and I finally saw results that stayed โ€” the results I'd wanted all along.

Chapter Four

It Was Never About Trying Again โ€” It Was About Trusting Again

After so many failed attempts, I'd become guarded. I didn't want to jump into something new and regret it again. I wanted my husband's support, and I wanted to be sure it was actually safe.

Once I felt it fit my lifestyle and my family, my guilt finally lifted enough for me to commit with confidence. When I shared it with my husband, he was genuinely supportive โ€” he even told me it was time I cared more for myself. I realised that beyond all the trying and failing, I actually deserved something that worked for me.

Chapter Five

It Was Never About Knowing What to Do โ€” It Was About Actually Doing It

I told myself many times that I needed to find time to exercise, to hit the gym, to stay active. But the truth was, I simply couldn't find that time every day โ€” and I stayed stuck, feeling the same way.

I knew I wanted change, but I also knew I couldn't keep up with something that demanded that kind of daily commitment. It was only when I saw a classmate and his wife's transformation โ€” three years in, and still improving โ€” that I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try, for the last time, believing my goal would come true. That's when my transformation truly began.

Where I Am Today

Feeling healthier. Full of energy. I can focus more, and my confidence has grown. I show up differently now. More energised and present. This is my personal experience, and individual results vary.

When my husband saw my results, he adopted the same habits โ€” he's felt the difference in his own health and energy too. That's when I realised this was never just about me. It's about building a healthier family, together.

Why I Do What I Do

Slowly, I started helping the people closest to me. I've been able to support my parents' wellbeing too, and I continue helping more people around me โ€” not just with their health, but with building something sustainable for their future.

At the beginning, I worried I might just be spending money with nothing to show for it. But the real question was never whether we can afford it โ€” it's whether we can afford to keep putting ourselves last.

Through this journey, I realised that when I started taking care of myself, my health and my confidence improved together. I'm not just helping people improve their health anymore โ€” my mission has grown bigger than that. I'm impacting families, workplaces, and communities. When one person becomes healthier and more confident, it naturally influences everyone around them. That's how real change begins.

I believe everyone deserves a choice โ€” the option to feel good in their own body, to spend quality time with their family, and to build real flexibility into their life. Because when you have options, you can truly live life on your own terms. And that's why I do what I do.
